This directory contains the Gemini boot floppy images. rawrite.exe is included here for non-linux users that need to create the Gemini boot floppies. Please see rawrite3.doc for rawrite instructions. Lunar Linux users just do "dd if=boot_image of=/dev/fd0 bs=1k" and "dd if=root_image of=/dev/fd0 bs=1k" to create the two Gemini floppies. Gemini is a special purpose two disk rescue system. It is designed to be used for cleaning up damaged partitions/filesystems. The kernel does have support for ext2, ext3, reiserfs, xfs and DOS based filesystems. The root filesystem is a busybox + uClibc based FHS compliant micro Linux distribution. You may find almost all necessary tools for recovery. BTW, this is an i386 optimized distro, should run on almost all architectures with 4MB RAM. There is also testdisk, the most powerful opensource partition search and rescue tool available. ffdisk and cfdisk are also included as well as fsck and friends. The testdisk app has been moved to the Lunar ISO in the /sbin directory. The supported SCSI systems are: AHA152X AHA1542 AHA1740 AIC7XXX BUSLOGIC NCR5380 NCR53C406A NCR53C7xx SYM53C8XX_2 SYM53C416. There is also builtin support for RAID and LVM. IDE is also supported. USB keyboard support. tulip, eepro100, 3c59x, realtek, ne2000, ethernet support. There are at least two floppy images in this directory, one for boot, the other for root. Download the images and write them to two 1440 KB formatted floppies.
